7. Check the thickness of the backplate – the plate should be of a suitable thickness to support the wheel correctly during the grinding operation without distortion. (See table below)
8. If re-grinding is carried out, care should be taken to ensure that the dimension ‘X’ (see diagram below) is not ground so small that when mounting the disc, the screws could touch the bottom of the hole. If this did occur, the wheel nut insert may be pulled out.
9. All countersunk or counter bored holes should be uniform to allow for interchange of the fixing screws.
10. Check that the thread nomenclature of the screws conforms to the nut inserts in the wheel. The screws should be of sufficient length to properly engage the threads of the inserts but not too long that they touch the bottom of the hole.
